Family Reunion - Cincinnati, Ohio - August 2006

Well, this year, the Hudson Family reunion was in Cincinnati, Ohio. It was a pleasure and honor to see my big brother Lennie hosting the whole thing. It was a welcome change too see the next generation of the Hudson clan taking over.

This year, I had the opportunity to introduce both of my children to my family. It was so wonderful to see my kids interact with their cousins and uncles. I just wish that my late cousin Johnny could be here in person to see my family. Brother Brian took up the task of holding my youngest, Jayda while she slept at the family banquet. Watching my mother dance the night away was incedible! She hasn't slowed down at all.

My nieces and nephews are getting big - bigger than me. Leia is developing into a nice young women and I had to body check her date and threaten to put the smack down on him if he didn't act right. Little Kyle ain't little no more - look out for The K Rose Fashion Company. She is going to be an awesome designer when her time comes. Little Miles isn't little any more either. He's 8 years old and I can fit his shoes. Man, when he is 16, watch out. This time home, I didn't get the chance to see my other two nephews, Brian and Breon, but we'll catch up with them on our next visit.

I also had the opportunity to see the car that my father has been building for the last 3-4 years. It's looking good and I can't wait to see it painted. Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures of the car, but we'll have some to post soon enough.

Stay tuned for the pictures from the reunion. I'm still figuring out this tool....

Peace!

Jacquie and her ding dongs

Jacquie decided that she has to satisfy her sweet tooth and so while at the grocery store, she decides to buy ding dongs. Of course, the box is opened immediately as we get into the parking lot walking back to the car. Brian G of course indulges himself with ding dongs and later, I can't resist myself. My wife and I are doing the Sonoma Diet and she has been strong since the beginning, but I broke down and had one. Actually, I've had cookies, bagels, beer, and other miscellaneous non-allowed Sonoma items. Well, I'm on vacation, so I figured it would be ok.

I'm also showing Jacquie how to write a blog entry so she can create a blog site of her own.

Rainy day on July 4th

It was torrential downpour in Houston on the 4th of July. Brian Greenhouse is weathering the storm as he barbeques the yard bird and pork (the other white meat). The kids are looking through the window in eager anticipation of playing in the lush green grass. Unfortunately, all outdoor play has been suspended due to weather. So, we are entertaining the children in doors - by any means necessary.

Action packed day

Well, today was quite interesting. We actually left the house today. We went to the grocery store to try to find Curry for Auntie Jacquie so that she could make Curry chicken. So, we traveled to the local grocery store called Fiesta. They had every type of food you could imagine, except the curry wasn't where thought it would be. It was in the non-ethnic food section. Anyway, after procuring the curry, we headed back to the homestead, but on the way, we stopped by Auntie Nirvana's phamacy.

After leaving the pharmacy, we dropped off Jacquie at home and we headed off to the local fireworks store. Of course in Texas, you can buy balistic missiles and detonate them in your front lawn. So, we procured a small arsenal - pictures to follow. of course when we had to perform some testing to make sure they actually worked. So, we ignited some "Little Dynamite" and shot off a rocket, and some roman candles.

Visit to Houston, July 4, 2006

Well, the Phipps family had a little vacation to Houston, TX to surprise Uncle Brian. It was also a nice surprise for Auntie Jacquie from New York. The kids are having a great time playing, running, and getting into trouble together. Stay tuned for pictures to come. This should be a very interesting 4th of July because most everything is legal to detonate in this state.
